This Privacy Policy explains how Pure Comps ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use purecomps.app (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password you choose. If you sign up with Google or Apple OAuth (when enabled), we receive the email address associated with that account. We do not collect your OAuth password — authentication is handled by the provider.

Usage data: We track your search count (to enforce free-tier limits), search preferences (sort order, view mode, exact mode, retailer preferences), watch-list items, and price-drop alerts you create. We do not record your search queries beyond what is needed to display recent searches and manage your watch list.

Technical data: Our hosting provider (Vercel) and error-monitoring service (Sentry) automatically log IP addresses, browser type, and request metadata. We use this data for security, abuse prevention, and debugging — not for advertising or profiling.

Payment data: We do not store your credit card or payment details. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, our payment provider. We receive your subscription status and plan type from Stripe; Stripe handles card data in accordance with its own PCI-DSS compliance.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and authenticate your sessions.
  • To display your search preferences, watch list, and price alerts.
  • To enforce free-tier usage limits (50 searches/day, 3 watch-list items).
  • To process subscription payments and manage your plan (Pro or Lifetime).
  • To send service-related emails (account verification, price-drop alerts, and important account changes).
  • To monitor and fix errors, prevent abuse, and maintain security.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

3. Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics. See our Cookie Policy for details.

4. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on the following third-party providers, each governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Supabase — Authentication and database hosting (stores account data, watch lists, alerts, and search counts).
  • Stripe — Payment processing (subscription and one-time checkout).
  • Vercel — Web hosting and deployment.
  • Sentry — Error monitoring and performance tracking.
  • Resend — Transactional email delivery (when enabled).
  • ScrapingDog / Google Shopping — Product search data providers.

5. Affiliate Disclosure

Pure Comps may earn an affiliate commission when you click through to a retailer and make a purchase. This commission comes from the retailer or an affiliate program (such as Amazon Associates) and is paid to us — it does not increase the price you pay. Affiliate relationships never determine which products appear in your results or how they rank. See our Terms of Service for more detail.

6. Data Retention

Your account data is retained while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, we remove your email, preferences, watch list, and alerts from our database. We may retain limited technical logs for up to 90 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes.

7. Data Security

We use row-level security policies in our database to ensure users can only access their own data. Authentication tokens are handled by Supabase Auth. Payment data never touches our servers. We use HTTPS for all connections. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, but we follow industry best practices to protect your information.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Export your watch list and preferences.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Users

If you access the Service from outside the United States, your data is processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We do not currently target users in the EU, but we aim to align with GDPR principles.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated via email if you have an account.
